Re-reading H. P. Lovecraft

I started re-reading the stories of H. P. Lovecraft. And like the first time, I'm impressed by the cosmos he created. Lovecraft's fiction sometimes is so concise, it's no wonder, people started thinking that part of it was real. Take for example the fictional Necronomicon. If you are into fantasy and horror fiction, you will most likely have read about it, since numerous writers mentioned it.

Congrats To Shaun Murphy

22 years old Shaun Murphy won the Snooker World Chanpionchip yesterday. He's the first qualifier for 26 yeares to claim the title.

I didn't watch the final, unfortunately, but watched his match against Peter Ebdon - and I really like his offensive and carefree style. Congratulations, Shaun Murphy!

28th Annual Meeting of D.O.N.A.L.D

Last Weekend I attended the 28th annual meeting of D.O.N.A.L.D. (Deutsche Organisation der nichtkommerziellen Anhänger des lauteren Donaldismus - German organisation of noncommercial members of pure donaldism) in Aachen. Besides the new Mac Moneysac Award was (in absence) given to Josef Ackermann, CEO of Deutsche Bank AG, several new scientific researches about the life in Duckburg were presented. All in all it was an entertaining and instruktive meeting.

I like helping with removals

Today I was helping a friend of mine doing his removal (my dictionary says it's called removal, my mind says, it's called relocation. I'm not sure which to trust: The dictionary is from 1961, actually). I really like to do this kind of things: Carrying furniture and boxes down the stairs, stuffing them into a van, carrying them up again. I even like the little scratches you get from the cardboard boxes.

The Flying Duckman

A TV documentation remembered me of the famous Carl Bark's story about the Flying Dutchman. I'll give it a re-read now.
